No , Villa Rentals guests no longer pay a vehicle entry fee from the 1st October 2024 .
How do I gain access to the Estate?
Present a valid drivers license and car license for vehicle access .

What are the arrival and departure times?
Arrival Time: 15h00
Departure: 10h00
Late departure fee of R400 will be levied off your breakage deposit. Special request can be made for a late check out with your reservation agent at Villa Rentals.
When will I receive my refundable breakage deposit back?
Breakage deposits are refunded within 30 days after departure.
Can I rent a golf cart on the estate at a daily rate?

What time does the private domestic arrive daily?
Anytime between 08:00-14:00 , except Sundays and Public Holidays. No daily services on Sundays and Public Holidays
They have their own keys to gain access. Standard Villas only receive a daily service every 5th day with linen and towel change.
Should I lock my villa and close all windows when I go out?
Yes, for safety and security purposes. Monkeys cause havoc in the villas when they gain access.
Do you have a superette on site that sells basic items like ice, charcoal, toilet paper, water, etc?
Yes, we have the San Superette (Spar) Operating hours:
- Monday: Friday 08:00 – 17:00
- Saturday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Sunday: 08:00 – 14:00
- Public Holiday: 08h00 – 17h00
How can I access the beach?
We have implemented a new facial recognition system at the beach gate for convenience and security. Please note that children under 16 will not be scanned for facial recognition. Instead, they will be given a band at the beach gate to use for their beach access.
Do guests pay special rates for golf when booking through villa rentals?
Yes, R405 per person for 18 holes. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Can villa rentals guests use all the amenities on the estate?
Yes, they can. This includes:
- The Mashie Course, free of charge.
- Please visit the Leisure Desk to rent equipment such as Mountain Bikes, Tennis Rackets, Golf Clubs, etc.
Do you have restaurants on the estate?
Yes, you can dine at the Clubhouse or Hotel Restaurant. The Clubhouse has a famous wood fire oven with the most delicious pizzas served every Friday between 12:00-19:00.
Can I bring my pets?
No, unfortunately, no pets are allowed.

Do towels and linen get changed daily?
No, towel change every 3rd day and linen and towels every 5th day. Standard villas are not services daily. They will only receive a linen or towel change every 5th day.

Beaches & Facilities
What facilities are on the Blue Flag beaches?
Both beaches have lifeguards and bathrooms. Marina Beach (right next door) also has a tidal pool and restaurant. Top tip: Bring your own umbrella and beach chairs, just in case!
When are the pools open?
Swimming pools are open from sunrise to sunset. The kids' water slide and splash pool run all day, weather permitting.
What leisure equipment can we hire?
You can rent mountain bikes, tennis rackets, squash rackets, and golf clubs. Visit the Leisure Desk for the latest hourly or daily rates.
Do we pay for tennis and squash courts?
Court use is free! You just need to book a slot at the Leisure Desk. Forgot your gear? You can rent rackets and balls there, too.
Villa Standards & Servicing
What’s the difference between "Standard" and "Classic" villas?
- Standard: Our budget-friendly option. Cleaning is every 3rd day.
- Classic: Upgraded furniture and finishes. Check your booking for the specific cleaning schedule.
Do upgraded villas get cleaned on Sundays?
No. To give our hard-working staff a break, there are no housekeeping services on Sundays or Public Holidays, regardless of your villa category.

What are the restaurant hours?
Generally, breakfast starts at 07:00 and the kitchen closes around 21:00 or 22:00. Open daily!
How do I book the Spa?
The Spa gets busy! We highly recommend booking your massage or facial in advance. Call via the switchboard or pop into Spa reception.

How far is Margate Airport?
It’s a quick trip! About 16km, which takes roughly 20–25 minutes.
How do I get here from King Shaka Airport (DUR)?
It’s about a 2-hour drive (165km). Renting a car is best, or you can book the Southern Shuttle for a ride.
Where are the nearest shops and hospitals?
Shopping: Shelly Centre and South Coast Mall are a 20–25 minute drive north.
Medical: Netcare Margate Hospital is about 15–20 minutes away.

How far is the San Lameer Estate from major local attractions and points of interest?

Yes, most villas have A/C and ceiling fans to keep you cool.
Is parking secure?
Absolutely. Every villa has a dedicated spot (carport or garage), and the estate is strictly secure for overnight parking.

What is the cancellation policy?
It depends on when you cancel. Check the T&Cs on your booking confirmation or ask our reservations team.
How can I pay?
We accept EFT and major Credit Cards. Easy peasy.
Do you have long-stay discounts?
Yes! Ask about our "Snowbird" specials for discounted monthly rates during winter (May to August).

Can I rent a crib or high chair?
Yes. Camp cots and high chairs are available for a small fee. Please request them when you book so we can have them ready!
Is the estate wheelchair friendly?
It is quite hilly here. However, we do have ground-floor units. Please tell us your needs when booking so we can allocate the perfect villa for you.

Is the estate safe?
Safety is our priority. We have 24-hour manned security, facial recognition access, electric fencing, and constant patrols. You can relax knowing you’re safe.
